I'm personally of the opinion that the world would be a nicer place if the country was littered with 'Twister-hotspots' where we could all get a quick game in when we've got a spare few minutes. Those of a certain age will sympathise with the fact that I'm feeling world-weary today. Those of a certain age will understand that I remember a world without bluetooth, a world without spam and a world without a constant stream of new technology that I can't help but want, with every fibre of my body.

I wouldn't swap this technology for all the pen and paper, landlines or VHS tapes in the world, but sometimes it's nice to take a step back to remember what it used to be like. Which is why the Atari console is doing a roaring trade at the moment.

This is a retro console that can plug directly into your TV, after which you can play one of 20 suitably retro games to your heart's content. Be it Centipede, Asteroids or Breakout that you remember playing, whilst drinking a bottle of Panda cola, you'll be in 80s heaven with this. Sometimes you don't want to play against Jann in Sweden or Chester in California. You just want to challenge your mate, on the sofa.
