Warner Brothers Music has made a pioneering step today, by announcing that they're going to distribute music videos and celebrity interviews on the video sharing portal. But there are signs that we might have to pay - apparently they're going to use "advanced content identification and royalty reporting system". Huh?
This is a milestone for the two companies, as well as the industry as a whole, who have up until now avoided working with portals such as YouTube. In fact, Universal Music has come out and said "We believe these new businesses are copyright infringers and owe us tens of millions of dollars. How we deal with these companies will be revealed shortly". Oooh er.
